Ambigroup trusts the Liebher range of machines for its Recycling projects
Ambigroup invests in Liebherr T 60-9s and T 55-7s telescopic handlers, with which it will carry out recycling, waste management, scrap handling and dismantling projects. At Ambigroup they needed manipulators with a high load capacity, 6 tons, which would allow them to establish synergies with the industrial range of their machine park.
Ambigroup is in the top 100 of the most important demolition companies globally, according to the ranking prepared by Demolition & Recycling International, which annually selects the 100 largest companies in the world from different sectors, including demolition. The aforementioned international entity considered that Ambigroup gained notoriety with the work to dismantle the Elcogás thermal plant, located in Puertollano (Ciudad Real). Ambigroup, a Portuguese company whose origins date back to 1978 in the purchase and sale of metal scrap, acquired in December 2022 the Liebherr T 60-9s and T 55-7s forklifts for recycling work, scrap handling and dismantling of industrial facilities.
They decided to invest in these models “because they are equipped with a load capacity of 6 tons and because they will allow us to establish synergies with the range of wheel loaders that we currently have in our fleet”, says Luis Días, Ambigroup Service Manager. Another sector in which these teams currently work is the shipbuilding industry, as Ambigroup dedicates an important branch of its activity to the dismantling of ships and comprehensive treatment of waste derived from this activity.
After being put into service, both machines already have more than 400 hours of operation at a rate of 8 hours/day, with the T 60-9s and T 55-7s standing out so far for their optimized fuel consumption, reliability, versatility and productivity. Ambigroup has a machine park made up of more than 100 units, of which more than half are Liebherr: wheeled excavators (A 904C, A 914C), tracked excavators (R 912, R 914 Compact, R 914, R 934, R 945 and R 954), loaders (L 522, L 544 and L 566), tracked tractors (PR 734 and PR 754) and material handlers (A904, A924, LH 26 M and LH 30 M).
Ambigroup has more than thirty years of experience in environmental management, has 12 recycling units in Portugal, employs more than 500 people and earns more than 25 million euros per year. Having started its activity in the purchase and sale of scrap, the group's vision and strategy led them to diversify their area of activity into the field of dismantling industrial facilities, demolition and management of all types of metallic and non-metallic waste, to always offer added value to its customers.
At the forefront of machinery, logistics and technology, Ambigroup has distinguished itself throughout its long professional career for its proactive and innovative character when it comes to offering its customers increasingly efficient solutions in recycling and waste treatment in general. In 1994, Ambigroup expanded its scope of activity and established itself in Spain with the Recifermetal brand.
Headquartered in Santurtzi, Biscay, and with the original focus of its activity on the dismantling of blast furnaces, Recifemetal is currently dedicated to the demolition and dismantling of industrial installations.
